The District Court in Kristiansund, Norway, has sentenced a breeder of Chinese Crested, Bearded Collies and years. This breeder also had Mexican hairless dogs.The summer 2009 the Animal Welfare discovered that many of this breeders dogs lived in horrible conditions in the breeders basement and 10 of the breeders Bearded Collies were så badly neglected that they had to be put down onsite. They were standing in their own urin and feces, they were very badly tangled, their nails were long and gave them trouble walking, their teeth were rotten, the stank of ammonia was terrible and several of them were blind which the veterinarian concluded could be because of the ammoniagas they were living in. The A-team of dogs that were still in the showring lived upstairs with the breeder, the B-team who was no longer showing was placed in the basement.
The district manager of the Animal Welfare who was a witness in the case against this breeder said this was the worst tragedy and case of neglect she had seen in her 36 years as a veterinarian. In several of the pictures that were laid out as evidence in court they actually could not see what was the front and what was the behind of the dogs in the pictures.
The sentence in this case are way to mild concidering what these dogs had to go through for such a long time in that basement. This breeder has placed out many dogs to coowners now and there is no doubt she will start all over again when these 5 years has passed. To avoid that we will now warn doglovers all over so that it won`t be easy for her to buy new dogs again. So please help us spread the word so that no new dogs will have to suffer like these poor dogs did.
